Ingredients:

  • 1 package Bar-S Hot Dogs
  • 2 cans crescent roll dough
  • 8 slices cheddar cheese
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoons parsley, finely diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Dash of salt

Directions:

Upgrade your classic franks to cheesy pigs in a blanket with the simple addition of crescent rolls and cheese. By wrapping Bar-S franks in crescent rolls and topping in melted cheese, this pigs in a blanket recipe makes for an easy appetizer. This dish requires little ingredients and can be topped off with any dipping sauce.

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  2. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Rollout the first jar of crescent roll dough onto parchment paper into a big rectangle, and then separate into triangles along perforated lines.
  4. Slice each Bar-S Hot Dog and each cheese slice in half.
  5. Place one rectangle of cheddar cheese and 1/2 hot dog on the large end of each crescent dough triangle. Then roll until you get to the small end of the triangle. Repeat until you have 8 pigs in a blanket.
  6. Space out evenly on cookie sheet. Repeat with the second can of dough. When you are done you should have 16 pigs in a blanket spaced out evenly on baking sheet.
  7. In a small bowl melt 3 tablespoons butter in microwave, then add minced parsley, onion powder and salt. Mix and then brush the top of each crescent roll with the melted butter mixture.
  8. Bake at 350 F for about 15-18 minutes or until crescent rolls are golden to lightly browned in color.
  9. Remove from oven and serve with ketchup.
